As an appetizer, David and I ordered cabo crab cakes, $11.29. Made of blue crab, pan-sauteed and served with roasted corn and black bean salsa and roasted pepper aioli.
We shared a large Chinese chicken salad (recommended by friend, Jason), $11.79. Comprised of shredded lettuce, crispy won tons, julienne carrots, green onions, basil, toasted sesame seeds, and fresh cilantro in a spicy sweet-sour sesame dressing. Topped with chilled-grilled chicken breast.
We finished the meal with shrimp scampi pizza, thin crust, $13.29. Besides the shrimp, there were onions, roasted garlic, mozzarella cheese, fresh oregano, Italian parsley with white wine lemon-garlic butter sauce. We requested honey-wheat dough.
It was my birthday on Jan. 7, so David took the day off and we had lunch at California Pizza Kitchen, our second time there. We made sure to order something different from the extensive menu. Fun and delicious food!
We came home to watch the news conference with UH President David McClain and Chancellor Virginia Hinshaw. They discussed the resignation of Head Coach June Jones, the budget, and the fact that UH is an “intellectual jewel, but is physically tarnished” due to years of neglect.
It also appears that Athletic Director Herman Frazier has been fired. I hope the next director will be more competent and likable.

I like CPK, the fuud is guud and unique.
The news about JJ is shocking but I understand his reasons and I wish him the best at SMU. We have to put that behind us and move forward and hopefully the UH administration will learn from this mishap and address the concerns that JJ had. I hope that they will find someone quickly so they can recruit and hopefully the program will continue the momentum and not go backwards.

I agree with you 100%. Let’s all move on. I hope the next coach is just as good as JJ and the next AD is better than HF.

Hehe, so after the Thank June Jones Rally, I went to Ala Moana for lunch. Grabbed a Chinese chicken salad to go, cause I knew you guys were going to CPK for your bday. :-p
