Suddenly, we are poorer than last week. Here’s why:
We have hired a professional painter to paint the exterior of our house for $3,100 (materials and labor, final price). He will buy the “clam chowder” shade of Behr paint as well as white paint for the trimming, both on sale at Home Depot, and he said it would take him about 1-1/2 weeks to finish the job. He will start on Wednesday.
Then we purchased a blue lint-free carpet and best pad for the living room, family room, and hall at Carpet Outlet, a discount store on Bougainville Street near our residence. Price was $2,509. Installation by Warren’s Carpet, including moving of furniture and haul away of old carpets, will cost $800 in cash. There will be two installers, and David will help move the electronics. We scheduled the work for July 19.
That’s $6,409 total.
Our color scheme for this area of the house will be the blue carpet with white walls and drapes. I am so excited! It will be like living in a brand new home with these renovations!
Next year, we will install new carpet and drapes in the master bedroom.
P.S. I know some of you feel I should install wood laminate. However, just last month, my granddaughter fell backward and hit her head on the floor. Good thing it was carpeted!
