Earlier this year, I foolishly predicted that QB Brett Favre would lead the Green Bay Packers to the Super Bowl if he were retained. As we all know, he was dealt to the New York Jets and, despite a great start early in the season, lost this week to the Miami Dolphins, who were led by the quarterback he replaced. This means he and the Jets are not headed to the playoffs. As a result, Coach Mangini was fired.
Favre is now at his home in Mississippi, pondering his future. At 39, should he retire? David feels that Favre should play one more year, because he is still a good quarterback. Besides, who else is there?
Well, how about former UH star, Colt Brennan? Yes, Colt is under contract to the Washington Redskins, but perhaps he could be traded. I have watched those other quarterbacks, who were drafted the same year he was, playing for their teams this season, and I don’t understand why Colt is not being utilized. With his accurate arm, he would be an asset to the Jets.
Favre’s teammates say they would welcome him back provided he attended training camps, mini camps, and showed some interest in improving himself. Apparently, that is questionable. The Jets would have no trouble with Colt in that regard. He has shown he is willing to go the extra mile for his team.
So, how about it, Jets? Let Colt Brennan be your new quarterback!

That might make Stephen Tsai quite happy, I would think! We would all be cheering for his Jets!
I’m just waiting for an NFL team called the Sharks. A game with the Jets would be hysterically marketable!

haha. Yeah, West Side Story.
How about the Sharks vs. the Dolphins? Feeding frenzy!

Brennan needs to get himself traded out of DC because with the front office the Skins have, they’re just another graveyard for NFL quarterbacks. I’d like to see him traded to Minnesota where he’d have a chance to compete for the starting job.

Let me say this, I have been a ‘Skins fan since I was crapping my diapers.
I was overjoyed when Colt was drafted by Washington.
That being said,
Why would the Jets or Vikings trade for Colt, a rookie on the inactive list all year.
Someone whom BOTH teams passed up six times in the draft in spite of spotty QB play.
What would his trade value be?
Colt traded for 13 jockstraps and a roll of tape?
Hawaii fans know CB’s talent, BUT he needs to prove it in the NFL before he becomes trade bait.
Farve shows what happens when you don’t train full time in the off season, you tire, falter and throw interceptions.
Cry baby Farve constantly complains that the head coach often tell him what he did wrong, but Farve is too important to waste time on tiny details.
You also get your coach fired.
Maybe Hussein can play QB for the Jets, time for a change!

Did Flacco, Ryan and Quinn have to prove themselves first? They were drafted this year and played this year! Too bad that didn’t happen to Colt.

gigi,
all the QBs you named were drafted well before Colt.
AND they were drafted to START, not to develope on the bench.
Skins picked Colt on a throwaway pick and pay him minimum wage (400 grand per year) in hope that he will become a reliable back up or starter in a few years.
