My blog on WordPress.com has an automatic spam killer called Akismet (Automatic Kismet). According to its website, Akismet has killed more than 11 billion spam comments so far. They claim that 83% of all comments are spam.
This spam filter truly is effective. Note how easily you can leave comments on my blog without having to type nonsensical letters or forcing me to preview comments before publishing them. Akismet is downloadable and free. If you are interested, just google Akismet to learn more about it. Or better yet, switch your blog to WordPress.
But, why, oh, why do people even bother to send spam comments in the first place? What joy do they derive from it? I know that spam sometimes is written in Chinese and Russian, so it’s not an American phenomenon. Spammers are either sick or just plain immature. They rank with anonymous phone callers, people who are so terribly lonely that they must reach out to others this way. Pretty sad.

You’re right about that! I’m not bothered by spammers for the most part, but I have protection, too. And I am grateful for that. And like you, I wonder, what is their problem? And why do they do it????

They are not people. They are spam robots.

Spammers are truly annoying! How do you switch over accounts from one to the other though? I have no idea. I’d have to start all over again, right? I’d have to think about that. I’m so used to this Blogger blog.

Kay,
I believe you could place a link to your Blogspot site on your new WordPress site. Does anyone else have an answer to Kay’s questions?

By the way, I followed your advice about the folding table. We went to Costco today to pick one up. It was much better than the one at Target. More expensive but better.

Great! I’m glad you found what you wanted, Kay.
