Now, it’s his left knee

Photo by Ted Trimmer:  Flotilla on tsunami day.  All boats had to leave the harbor to ride out the  tidal waves.  Ted says he wasn’t bored and even surfed a bit.  What a foolish man!

Well, the rain had stopped by the time the opera rolled around this afternoon, but David parked in the covered structure at the Blaisdell in case it rained after the opera.  That made me happy.  Yes, it was well worth the five bucks, even though it was dry after the show.

Inside the theater, it was another story.  David complained about his knees locking because of the cramped space between his seat and the seat in front of him.  He could hardly wait for intermission when he could stand up.  Although he could have stood up during the performance as we were in the last row in the balcony and there was nobody behind us, he didn’t want to disturb the person sitting next to him.  An aisle seat would have been preferable, because he could stretch his legs.  Next time, he might choose SRO (Standing Room Only).

Remember when David’s right knee hurt?  After X-rays were taken, the diagnosis was tendonitis.  He underwent physical therapy and was told to do exercises three times a day.  The right knee is now okay.  It is his left knee that hurts, especially after sitting or going up and down the stairs.  I told David to try the PT exercises on his left leg at home.  He started them tonight.

I hope my husband is well enough to tolerate the 13 hour plane ride to Hong Kong in May!

Yep, a 13 hour plane ride with tendonitis would not be good. I tried flying with tendonitis once and it was not fun.

Hmmm… I wonder if THAT’S what my mother has. Makes sense since it started when she did her exercises going up and down the stairs. I’ll have to ask the doctor when we take her for her check up.

Amoeba almost lost it during a 6 hour plane ride from New Jersey! He stood up at the back of the plane for most of the flight. They keep making the spaces smaller and smaller.

I hope his knee gets better before the flight. Glad he parked in the parking structure for you :) Rabbit, Rabbit

Yikes!!!! Us tall people always need more leg room!!!

Take along lots of Ibuprofen or whatever anti-inflammatory he prefers.

Oh, those seats. Can you get the extra leg room seats if you ask? That’s a long flight for a tall person with sore knees.

Between my back problems and arthritis, I have had some miserable two to three hour plane rides. Now that I’ve gotten some relief from Naproxen, and better know what’s causing what, I can better manage the symptoms. Exercises help, but the right drug helps more.

I’m only 5’5″, and I felt cramped (in my AISLE seat) on a flight from Honolulu to Portland on Northwest. It was so bad, I paid the extra $30 for an exit row seat when I returned home. Now that was really nice, I could stretch out my legs! I was sitting next to two tall guys, one was in the Army, the other in the Navy. They certainly appreciated the extra room, too. :-)

It is hard to sit still for hours on end. All kinds of things cramp.
