This is a wonderful florist and coffee shop, called PETALS AND BEANS, which is owned by blog reader, “Chopsuey Boy,” and his wife, “Ms. Petals.” It is located on the corner of Ala Moana Blvd and Queen Street in Honolulu.
This is Chopsuey Boy in the coffee shop. His wife is the florist.
Mocha Espresso Shakes. Refreshing! These shakes can be made with ice cream, non-fat yogurt, or soy milk. The shop also serves smoothies.
Waffle dog. Freshly made and delicious! I had already taken a bite before remembering to take a picture. There is a $1.00 discount if you buy the combo (waffle dog and drink).
David and I hold our waffle dogs and mocha espresso shakes. Above is the UH Warrior football helmet. Yes, I met Chopsuey Boy on the Warrior Beat blog before actually meeting him in person today. He is super nice!

Wow! Now that looks really great! I LOVE coffee shakes or freezes or what have you. When Art gets back, I’m going to ask him to take us there. Hmmm…. it’s dinner time right now. I’m hungry so I’m ready to go there now. Sigh… I’ll have to wait a week to go.

I’m kind of stuck on ‘waffle dogs’. That’s a new one, and I’m not sure I’m interested in having one. But it would be very hard for me to have my mocha shake with anything but ice cream. It’s probably a good thing I won’t be stopping by.

That does look like a fun place. I’m getting ready for the urban scene (in Seattle and Vancouver) and thinking about all the people and scenes and food to come! It can be a little too quiet in Hilo!
