Vroom, Vroom, Wheeee!!!

On our walk yesterday, Rylan and I saw this gorgeous red sportscar. Wow! I wondered whether the owner was a male or female. What type of person would buy a RED sportscar? Red is a strong color – okay, you might even say it is LOUD. But, who cares? I love this car!

Compare it with my current car, a boring gold Hyundai Accent:

And even worse is David’s ugly grey Toyota Camry:

David’s co-worker always buys white cars, because, she says, they are safer. You can see a white car better than a dark-colored car, especially at night. Also, it doesn’t absorb the heat from the sun. Yes, but how BORING!

Although my Hyundai is almost ten years old and the warranty is almost up, I am not in the market for a new car. But, if I were, I’d seriously consider buying that red sportscar! VROOM, VROOM, WHEEEE!!! And away I go!!!

Love it. It looks like the car of a friend of mine but she lives in Florida. I prefer red cars and I got one for my retirement, but it isn’t a two seater.

Nothing wrong with boring if it is a safe car. Red ones get more tickets, I understand. They’re easier to see when the driver makes bonehead moves. :-)

love that car too! So flashy and fun. Mind you, I’d probably look out of place in it! lol.

I have never cared about how a car looks, main thing, it is safe and takes me from point A to point B on as little maintenance cost as possible. We’ve been thinking what our next car should be…husband clipped an article from the Star Advertiser about a 2013 Toyota Prius c, list price less than 19K, gets 53 mpg.

When I was learning to drive, I remember my instructor telling me people driving red cars tend to be more aggressive and that red cars are statistically (consistently) involved in more accidents.

He warned me never to buy a red car – and I never have!!

Usually when I see a great sportscar, the driver ends up being an old bald man! (nothing wrong with old or bald)just saying.
I think they say what the heck I’m buying a sportscar/ha

It looks like a fun vehicle. A friend of mine has a red convertible and she loves it.

Who drives a red car? My husband that’s who. He is very unhappy that he cannot bend his stiff leg to work the clutch any more. He also no longer drives like a maniac. That’s what you get with a boring old blue car that is heavily dented from one end to the other. Dianne

Red is my favorite color in cars; but we always settle for silver.

  10. Denise Says:

The red sports car is me, at least my other personality loves it ;) We have two beige/gold colored Honda’s, one an Odyssey and the other an Accord. Now how boring is that to have the same colored car because we couldn’t make our minds up about any of the other colors, and so when it was time to buy our newer car, we got the same color as the old one? Yes, safe and boring but truth be told we like them and i guess that’s all that counts.

I have almost always had a red car. It just perks you up when you see it in a parking lot waiting for you. They just beg for a road trip.
Make that next one a really red one.

I am no longer interested in the status of my car. Both our small Toyota and our mini-van are over ten years old. As long as they still run dependably I’m happy.

  13. musings Says:

I was coveting a red car a long time ago and a friend of mine said the police target red cars. They just assume they must be speeding. Either that or red cars just stick out for the police to watch.

    L. for W.: 19K for a Prius? WOW! That would be an amazing price. I KNOW we paid a whole lot more for our 2010.

  14. anonymous Says:

Kay: That model Prius c is not at all like the other Prius. Much cheaper, and you get what you pay for (in this case a lot less car). So we’ll probably end up not getting that one. We’re hoping fuel efficient cars will come down in price one day, so the article caught our eyes.

We drive THE most boring car: a white 2002 Toyota Camry!

  16. Mare Says:

My vehicles have been minivans for years for tghe ease of entering/exiting and capacity to get people onboard. I will say that I LOVED driving a standard shift car, and would still love one. It is not practical for me, though.
