Good question!

Another view of a Hawaiian stream.

The technician from American Carpet One tested our concrete floor and determined that it has a high reading for moisture.  If we were to go ahead with the vinyl plank flooring, they would have to pretreat the floor with a sealant to prevent mold and mildew from forming beneath the planks.  Since we told our salesman that we had changed our mind, he credited our account and waived the $250 fee for the moisture test.  That was very nice of him and the company.  We will gladly do business with them again in the future.

David has been staying home with a sprained neck.  Yesterday, the doctor examined it and prescribed oral meds.  Hopefully, the pain will dissipate.

Meanwhile, his co-workers have been calling him for help with their assignments.  It’s really unbelievable how dependent they are on him.  What will happen to the company if David leaves?  Good question!

Glad you got your refund from considering the “floating” flooring.
Hope the pain meds work for David. He could log and track the number of calls he receives while at home, maybe to show his boss. Meanwhile, if he’s on too strong of pain meds, he may not give them the correct answers!
    Hope it gets better!

Wow…that much moisture?? I read a little more on the subject since your discussion about vinyl plank floating floors and moisture vapor could be a problem in low lying basement areas, so only above ground installation is recommended. Don’t know the topography of your lot but I’m wondering how much is too much.

    Hope David feels better.

I guess daily exposure to water is the problem, and just as bad. Hmmm, good call by the flooring company.

I would never have thought about that, glad you got your money back. Sorry to hear about David’s neck and hope he feels better soon. Yes, what would they do without him?

I’m reading backwards. I thought it was his knee. A sprained neck? Ouch! Sorry about the moisture thing. Gosh! We never even checked our flooring downstairs. We just put the laminate flooring over it. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed.

Hope David’s neck improves with the meds.
