Yesterday, I had lunch at Kincaid’s in the Ward Warehouse with friends, who were my classmates at RHS. Here we are: me, Suzanne (standing), Lynette, and Carolyn. Suzanne is the artist, whose painting I bought. Lynette is visiting from Ventura, California. And Carolyn is Lynette’s sister-in-law, whom I met for the first time. We had a lot to talk about.
This is what we ate:
Carolyn ordered a Salad and Mahimahi Sandwich.
Suzanne had Shrimp Pasta with Green Salad.
Lynette enjoyed the Italian Wedding Soup and Chicken Pasta.
And I loved the 3 Salad Sampler. Yummy!
For dessert, Lynette and Suzanne shared a piece of Key Lime Pie. Lynette took a bite of it before I remembered to take a picture.
And I had the 3 Puddings (vanilla, dark chocolate, butterscotch) and 3 Shortbread Cookies (one of which I ate before the photo was taken).
We looked at Lynette’s photos of the recent RHS class reunion, trying to put names to faces of old classmates. Some people looked remarkably well-preserved; others had changed so much they were unrecognizable. I saw a picture of Lynette’s 93-year-old mother, who is the same age as my mother. Unfortunately, both mothers suffer from dementia, but not Alzheimer’s, thank God.
All four of us have traveled to Japan. What stories we shared! The conversation was still going strong when I left the restaurant 2-1/2 hours later. We should get together again!
