Good eats

There were five of us at Mariposa today:  My mother, my sisters Sylvia and Nedra, and my sister-in-law Pat.  I forgot to take a photo of us, darn!  Oh, well, we all had a good lunch.  Those popovers and strawberry butter that Mariposa is famous for are to die for!

Pat gave me birthday gifts of chocolate-dipped strawberries and a $25 gift card for a fruit arrangement from Edible Arrangements.  Here’s what the strawberries looked like:

They were fresh, juicy, and chocolaty.  I ate four right off the bat, remembering to save some for David and Lisa.  Naughty me, David was upset that I had not saved him some of those shortbread cookies that Brit Gal Sarah had sent me recently.  Sorry, honey, I was having too much fun!  Besides, you weren’t around, so out of sight, out of mind!

Anyway, here’s what Edible Arrangements (in Manoa Marketplace) says about their fruit:

“Enjoy.  You are about to indulge in the freshest fruit dipped in the finest chocolate from Edible Arrangements.  We have an array of fruit and chocolate delicacies, including pineapple, oranges, strawberries and apples dipped in various chocolates, nuts and even coconut.  The next time you want the perfect indulgence for a special occasion, gift, or just to treat yourself, simply browse our online catalog.”

Can’t wait to use Pat’s gift card.

Fresh fruit and chocolate sounds like a perfect gift, indulgent but not unhealthy.

There’s an Edible Arrangements downtown as well, in the Finance Factors building. But while it’s closer, you have to deal with downtown parking.

Thanks for the birthday greetings, folks. Actually, my birthday happened earlier this month, so Pat’s gifts were belated.
