Real life

It started at 11:02 pm tonight.  The sound of birds chirping.  Loud at first, then slowly dissipating 15 minutes later.  Yes, I timed it.  Why?  Because I realized that it wasn’t birds making that noise, but a bed squeaking in the throes of love-making.  This had been going on every night for a week.  And, yes, I thought it was the birds.  Strange that the bed would be suddenly making this ruckus, when a month ago or even two weeks ago, it was silent.

Sigh.  Sometimes, I wish I didn’t live so close to my neighbors.  They are very noisy people.  I hear them yelling and screaming in Vietnamese, a baby crying, their dog barking (incessantly), and now this – a squeaky bed.

Well, there could be worse things to listen to.

Hey, people, how about buying a Simmons Beautyrest – perhaps a king-size one that is silent when you move on it.

Oh, no, they are at it again!  Their bed is squeaking!

…and you wonder why David insists on using an air conditioner in our bedroom.  It’s like being in a cocoon.  We don’t hear our neighbors.  Hopefully, they don’t hear us, either.  LOL.

    Well Gigi —
If the bed was so silent before, why all the noise now? Are you sure you have the same neighbors? Maybe they have friends/family visiting!
There are sometimes advantages to having a hearing loss, and taking my hearing aid out at night. Maybe you can try earplugs to rest.

I don’t do well with noise, especially some one else’s noise. We also live close to our neighbors, but thank goodness, have had very little noise problems. I’m sending a wish for patience your way. This kind of noise is incredibly difficult to discuss.

Ah, may be time for earplugs! What a hoot! Well, I mean it isn’t for you if it keeps you awake, but reading about it did make me giggle! May silence invade your night tonight!

LOL Better than the neighbors I had — they used to have what sounded like brawls at 3 AM!!!!! My landlord finally evicted them!

That was very funny! Are your neighbors that close that you would hear them?

Honolulu is a great town, but it is crowded! We’ve got plenty of room on the Big Island, and right now plenty vog, too.
