David treated me to a romantic birthday dinner at 53 By The Sea, which is a new Italian restaurant located off Ala Moana Blvd on Ahui Street in Honolulu.
Beautiful view of the ocean and Diamond Head in the distance.
We toasted my birthday with champagne.
Different types of bread.
The waiter split one order of a salad, consisting of mixed greens and fried calamari. It was enough for two people.
Here’s the delicious salad.
Mixed seafood with spaghetti and tomato sauce (David’s order).
Shrimp scampi with pesto sauce.
Complimentary dessert for the birthday girl. It consisted of fresh fruits, tiramisu, and mango sorbet. I blew out the candle in the middle of the tiramisu.
David had a fruit torte with vanilla ice cream.
Romantic piano music flowed through the restaurant.
All in all, I had a wonderful birthday dinner at 53 By The Sea, and the view of the ocean and Diamond Head was truly amazing. David is considering coming here for his birthday in March!

what a wonderful celebration! The food looks delicious, I love all your choices! Thanks for sharing and Happy Belated Birthday! It’s a great idea to split food, such as the salad. K and I split a sundae in a restaurant yesterday.

Happy, Happy, Birthday, Gigi!
Looks like a great new restaurant. Seems I’ve heard of another one elsewhere. The “53” means you were celebrating birthday 53, right? Oh, why do I pick on you? (Maybe because I’m only an itty bitty bit younger than you….?)
Aloha, Cheers, DrumMajor

My daughter, Julia, and you have the same sign. Makes you think. Well, not very much. Actually I’m not much of an astrologist. I posted her birthday in Bellingham, Washington, where I was visiting, on my Facebook. She is wearing a big sombrero and there is a mariachi band, so you know it wasn’t.
But I know you don’t like Facebook, although I have the minimum privacy settings, so the pictures may be visible to all. At this stage of my life, privacy is not high on my list. I would rather communicate, communicate, and then communicate some more. My heart is on my sleeve, and that’s the way I want it—for now.
Your pictures are great and it’s always good to hear about new restaurants. I wonder f Honolulu is one of the great restaurant cities? I’m beginning to think it is. It’s great to have a romantic dinner with a loved one.

The sombrero and mariachi sentence should read—“so you know it wasn’t an Italian restaurant.”

Funny that she is a Capricorn too. My mother’s and my granddaughter’s name is Julia, but they are not Capricorns.

The pictures make me crave for some seafood…
