Looking ahead

Hawaii 005-A

Hawaii.

Well, after perusing the literature that the travel agent sent us, we have decided to sign up for the special culinary cruise on the Seine River in late October to early November next year.  We have also decided to stay 2 extra days in Paris (one day before cruise and one day after cruise).  The travel agent has our personal information and will send us an invoice later.

I realize that October 2014 is more than a year away, but it never hurts to plan ahead.  This will be our first river cruise and we are looking forward to it.

There will even be free Wi-Fi on board the ship.  So, expect to see photos as the days go by.

Our agent told us we will fly via Delta to Los Angeles (5 hours) and then fly directly to Paris via Air France (10 hours).  Let’s see how well we tolerate flying for 15 hours.  No blood clots, please.

As for 2015, we plan to see Lisa graduate in Nevada.  From there, we will tour the Grand Canyon and mosey around the area before flying home to Hawaii.

Every year, we try to travel to somewhere new.  This year we were in Miami and Washington, DC.  Last year, we were in northern India.  In 2011, we toured the Big Island of Hawaii.  In 2010, we visited Hong Kong and Macau.  And in 2008, we saw Tokyo.

These trips were all very thrilling, but, you know what?  I returned home appreciating Hawaii even more.  This is paradise and I wouldn’t dream of living anywhere else.

Wonderful to book ahead for holidays. With Gregg’s work schedule we were never able to do that, except for the time we came to Hawaii and booked the hotel a year in advance. Friends told us that we needed to do that for that particular hotel. I held my breath so to speak, that our plans didn’t have to be changed and thankfully we didn’t have to and enjoyed a marvelous holiday. Times away do make us appreciate being home 🙂

You are so right about Hawaii being paradise. I’ve never been there except through blogs, but yours and Kay’s are so detailed that I do feel like you let me come along with you! Good choice on the culinary cruise. I look forward to seeing it, and it’ll be here before we know it! 🙂

It’s always nice to have plans and goals ahead of ourselves. I think that way we feel happiest and at our best.

I think you will enjoy river cruising.
I feel the same way about the Seattle area after traveling – glad to be back in God’s country. But I could live in England. It’s very much like here, but with much older stuff and amazing gardens.

Planning holidays for next year is good, but don’t forget to live in the now. Anything special planned for tomorrow? 😉
