New rice cooker

Rice cooker 001-A

This is our new Panasonic rice cooker that David purchased at Don Quixote for $32.99.

Rice cooker 002-A

As you can see, it is automatic and has simple controls.  No need to watch the rice cook.

Most families in Hawaii have a rice cooker, which comes in various sizes.  We bought the big one (11 cups of cooked rice), because we host large parties on Thanksgiving and Christmas.  But, the big size can also cook rice for just two people.   Very versatile.

All in all, the Panasonic rice cooker was a good buy.

    Well now I know:)

I might eat more rice if I had one of those. Does it cook other types of grains as well?

It comes with a cook book. You can make whole meals with it, such as paella or Spanish rice, etc. Some rice cookers can cook oats, but I am not sure this model does.

You’ve given me a thought for a Christmas gift for us when the time comes. I have never used one, but it sure looks like it’s trouble free!

We have a Panasonic too. We are too reliant on these cookers to be without even for a day. Interesting that many of your readers didn’t use or know about one.

We ear very few rice dishes these days. But an uncle, now deceased, lived near us and had one. He swore by it and we enjoyed many meals that included perfect rice from his rice cooker.

Oops! In comment above we eat, not ear!
