Being willing to compete

Hawaii 019-A

Hawaii.

There were some beautiful plays in last night’s football game, but Hawaii still lost to UNLV 39-37.  Hawaii is now 0-6 this season.  Will head coach Norm Chow be fired anytime soon?  It’s anybody’s guess.

Aunty Bobbie once told me that she hated to watch sports, because “somebody always loses.”  It’s too bad that both teams can’t win.

Why are there competitions in the first place?  Two of my relatives had such high self-esteem that they competed in beauty pageants.  Obviously, they thought they had a good chance of being crowned queen.  Alas, they lost.

A loss is a loss.  It’s hard to accept, isn’t it?

Oh, well, tomorrow is another day.

If we did not have competitions we would never learn the art of bouncing back:)

Competition is everywhere. It’s in our nature to want to be the best at something, or at least not to be the worst!
Both of our Washington universities lost badly yesterday to the Oregon schools. Today the Seahawks play in Seattle and should win this one. The Sounders play in Portland, and I have my concerns now.
People get blue when their teams lose. Then we have to remind ourselves that it is just a game, a form of entertainment, not really that important after all. It’s not like competing for a job or something something essential.

Hope your team starts winning Gigi, just too bad!

Over the years, I have come to care less and less about sports, especially football.

For most Melburnians sport is the elixir of life lol.
There are the die hard one eyed team supporters who talk about the team 12 months of the year – and others whose interest comes and goes during the various seasons of various sports.
What keeps them all going is that there is always next weeks game to look forward to – well unless you are bottom of the ladder – but in that case it’s knowing there’s always another season to come.
Yes Gigi Tomorrow is another day lol
