He’s hired!

Hawaii 009-A

As you know, David resigned as comptroller on July 1.  After a 1-1/2 hour interview last week, he was finally hired as an accountant yesterday and will begin his new job on Thursday.

He is happy that the office is located just ten minutes from our home and that parking is free.

Unlike his previous office hours (7:00 am to 5:30 pm), the new office hours are from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, which means he will be able to wake up later.

This will be an entirely new industry for him, but he and his employer are confident that David will be able to handle the stress of dealing with federal auditors periodically.  Needless to say, it will be challenging.

David was very honest during the interview.

He was asked, “Why did you quit your job, which you held for twenty years, when you were so close to retirement?”

He replied, “I just couldn’t take it anymore.”  And he went on to explain why.  Most of you readers know about this, so I won’t elaborate further.

I truly hope that my husband passes probation and that he gets along with the staff.  Fingers crossed!

I hope it works out well for David! It will be strange not having him home all day, just as you were getting used to it.

Big congrats to David! That didn’t take long at all! So happy for you both. Don’t worry about probation, I would think you would have to be pretty bad not to pass.

Wonderful! Here you will hardly get hired from a certain age –
    I don’t get hired anymore…..sad, but true!

Good for David. As a long time auditee of the feds and other government entities, tell David it’s like any other job. Learn it, do it right, learn from your mistakes and carry on.
I must say, I have learned more from my auditors than I learned taking my degree. And still am.

Fingers crossed for him also – but if they had their doubts I don’t think he’d be starting this week. Best of luck to him – what are you going to do for a dish washer now lol
