Renovating our home

We have been busy renovating our home and have replaced the beige carpeting in Lisa’s bedroom and our master bedroom with lovely blue plush carpeting.

David painted Lisa’s closet:

closet 001-A

closet 003-A

Don’t you think the closet looks better?  Note the new blue carpet.

Yesterday, I perused the Ashley Furniture’s catalog online and purchased three items over the phone:  A dresser with mirror, a desk, and a night stand – all in white.  I expect these items to be delivered in 4-6 weeks.  I was unable to find a white headboard for the full sized bed.  I will donate the old furniture to the Salvation Army.

My plan is to decorate this room in blue and white, which is my favorite color combination.  I am going to purchase white drapes and a white bedspread to complement the white furniture.  All of this will look stunning against the blue carpet.  I also intend to change the wallpaper, which accents one wall.

Eventually, this bedroom will become mine, when we rent out the master bedroom.  David will sleep in what was Maria’s bedroom, after we get rid of all of the stuff in it.

I hope we live happily ever after.

And so it begins – the start of Plan B – nothing like forward planning!
Sounds like a nice cool comfortable combination. Has David shown any preference for his colour scheme yet ?
    Take care

The painting of that closet was quite the improvement. David did an excellent job of it. Blue and white sounds very restful. I admire the way you go ahead with your ideas.

Nice job! The only problem with a room makeover, is the rest of the house seems to sulk in dullness.

    Gig, why 2 separate bedrooms?

  11. Beatrice P. Boyd Says:

Yes, the closet does look brighter and better with the white background. As for separate bedrooms, we have friends who sleep in them for various reasons and all of them are happily together, so it really is not that unusual, but whatever works for you and David.
