Passion

Waimea Falls 002-A

Waimea Valley, Oahu.

Yesterday, David drove to the Hawaii Symphony Box Office in Kaimuki to exchange our December 28 concert tickets for the December 30 concert.  Same concert, different dates.  We had to exchange them, because Aunty Bobbie’s party is scheduled for December 28.

As our subscription for the 12 concert season costs $800 for the two of us, we have been discussing whether or not to continue with this next season.  It’s an expensive luxury for retirees like us.  In all likelihood, we will keep this passion for classical music alive for a while longer.

What else is there that gives us so much pleasure?

Well, there is art.  That, too, makes us happy.  We recently purchased an oil painting by Jenny Lee, and it now hangs in our dining area next to the kitchen.  This is the one we bought:

Lovely, isn’t it?  It’s a deep painting that draws us in, complementing the modern Balinese painting on the left wall.  I can’t stop looking at it.

Music and art.  We are truly blessed.

What’s your passion?

Photography is my passion and getting out in nature and walking. I had to stop it for a while with various health issues, respiratory infections, sprained ankles, sore hip and knees and falls causing those. It is great to be able to get out and about again. Your painting is gorgeous. It is lovely to be able to enjoy the classics and your new painting is gorgeous!

As you do and David both enjoy and share an interest in music and art, continue with your passions. What other choices could bring such mutual joy in sharing?
