Memories of Las Vegas

David left yesterday morning to attend our daughter Lisa’s graduation in Las Vegas.  She will be receiving her doctorate of physical therapy on Sunday.  Eight relatives from Hawaii will be there, but not I.  Unfortunately, my colitis flared up in April and has not dissipated.  If it keeps up, I don’t think I will ever travel again.

David has video and still cameras, so all is not lost.  When he returns to Hawaii on Monday, I will post photos he took with my Canon camera.

Meanwhile, here are some photos of our previous trip to Las Vegas in 1998 (click on the photos to enlarge them):

So, all is not lost.  I have already been to Las Vegas and know what it’s like.  It’s too bad that I am too ill to see Lisa graduate.  However, she will always be a success in my eyes.  And always in my heart.

Blessings to you, Lisa.

I know you will be with your daughter in spirit on that important day. Congratulations to her for that accomplishment! I am very sorry to hear that you are suffering from colitis for so long.

So sorry that colitis is keeping you from seeing your daughter graduate. You surprise me, having a digestive disorder, since you are able to eat in restaurants so often. I am allergic to so many preservatives and food additives that we seldom eat in restaurants for that reason. I rarely eat at banquets for that reason, too. Carefully watching what I eat, and taking probiotics, I’ve been able to maintain a healthy gut. Hopefully yours will get back in shape real soon so you can do all the things you want to.

I was diagnosed with colitis in 1979. Sometimes, it goes into remission and I am perfectly fine. Then, I have a relapse and have to deal with it.

I couldn’t get to my daughter’s graduation either. I can’t sit on a hard bench or whatever for that long. I tell the kids I don’t do graduations anymore. Number 2 granddaughter is graduating tomorrow with her Master’s in Earth Science. She already has a job lined up. Lisa will have no trouble landing a job.

    Colitis is horrible. My sympathies.

Sorry to hear you couldn’t get to your daughter’s graduation … but congratulations to her! (I was in Las Vegas only once, circa 1990, and curiously, I didn’t gamble, not even once.)

Congratulations to your daughter, that is quite an accomplishment and one to be proud of. Sorry you won’t be able to go with David but it will be lovely to see everything he recorded. Thank goodness for today’s technology. I enjoyed your photos of your trip to LV 17 years ago. We were there five years ago and stayed overnight as we were just passing through. Had one turn at the slots and that was about it. It was fun seeing all the activity though.
