This is an old photo of little Lisa and me at Ice Palace, located a few blocks from our present residence in Honolulu.
Good news: We are overjoyed that Lisa passed her 5 hour national board exam on her first attempt. She had to drive from Las Vegas to Los Angeles to take it. Now, she awaits her license in the mail, after which she can work as a physical therapist. She has already been offered a job that pays $55/hour to start. Compare that figure with the $36/hour offered here in Hawaii. It’s a no-brainer. She wants to remain in Las Vegas so she can pay off her hefty student loan.
Other good news: David felt so strong that he drove to McDonald’s for a sandwich last night, as I had already gone to bed. It was his first drive since surgery on July 30. He also cleaned the bird poop off my car window and took the kitchen trash to the bin in the garage. He still uses the walker as a precaution, but thinks he will begin using a cane next week. Halleluia! My hubby is on the way to full recovery.
As for me, I find that a good night’s sleep (at least 6 hours non-stop) is very important to my sense of wellbeing. I feel so much better – more energetic and happier.
Never make any drastic decisions when you are feeling tired and depressed. Sleep on it and then decide what to do.
