Going with the flow

dolphin kiss-2011-david-A

This is David, kissing a dolphin in the Hilton Waikoloa Lagoon on the Big Island.  July 2011.

Our tenant moved out yesterday and is now living in Texas. He left our rental unit in excellent condition, and we have absolutely no complaints.  Though we will miss receiving $1,000 per month in rental income, we do enjoy having a third bedroom and a second bathroom.  We have no plans to rent out the unit again, as we have sufficient income and savings.  Of course, there might be a catastrophe in the future, but we will deal with the financial shortfall if and when it happens.

Today, we will buy an arm chair and end table for the guest room (formerly the rental unit). This is so our guest will be able to view the TV with ease. It won’t be a large recliner, because we want to be able to maneuver our vacuum cleaner under and around the chair.

I am very happy right now. Folks are coming here for a Christmas potluck lunch, and we have a 1993 family video to show them.  The 1991 video we showed on Thanksgiving was hilarious, especially seeing our nieces and nephews when they were very young.  The 1993 video will be just as amusing.

David and I go with the flow.  We love our home, because it meets all of our needs.  Best of all, we enjoy each other’s company.  He thinks I am a lot of fun, and I feel the same way about him, too.

How nice to have a guest area that is separate from the rest of the home. I’d appreciate staying in a place like that myself! We also enjoy each other’s company. That’s really nice. 🙂

How truly blessed you are in Hawaii a paradise..The rents there are the most I have noticed but one has to pay for paradise..Having your privacy is pricless..Good you have the means to live in such a wonderful place and have each other..Many in our state of Washington have nothing whatsoever, no food, housing jobs or anything and now a big 2 or 3 storm of rain…God’s blessings & happy holidays aloha!
