Christmas 2015

Sixteen family members celebrated Christmas at my home today. We had a moment of silence to remember my brother in law Pete and my mother, who both passed away in March.  This was followed by a family prayer, uttered by my 8 year old granddaughter, Julia.

It was potluck and there was a variety of cuisines, including Korean, Chinese, Mexican, and American.

David used a tripod and a Sony camera to take photos of individual families. What was special was the silver blue tree on the coffee table, which provided an interesting foreground.  I emailed the photos to the respective families.

Here are two of the photos:

After we ate our lunch, we watched a family video, taken during 1993. My mother was 77 years old at the time, and we marveled at how young she looked (better than me, in fact).

I then distributed Styrofoam boxes for guests to take leftovers.

By the way, the refrigerator in the guest room really came in handy, as we were able to store a lot of desserts the day before the party.

All in all, we had a very nice Christmas, spent with loved ones.

Very well organized. Our Christmas has been something of a free for all with seven family members here from the Mainland for two weeks. But we all get along well and are having a great time. The slow cooker is saving my life. Just throw a few ingredients into it,turn it on and come back several hours later to a hot main dish.
