Since David and I have decided to travel in the near future, we intend to strengthen our legs by touring sites here on the island of Oahu. Hopefully, we can develop enough stamina for the rigors of travel.
With this in mind, we drove to the Wahiawa Botanical Garden recently. The air was cool and crisp due to the higher elevation. This garden is a 27 acre rainforest. Fortunately, it did not rain during the time we were there.

This is me:
And this is David:
There are several tiers to this garden. This is the upper tier:
Then, David and I walked down the steep stairs to the lower tier:
There weren’t many flowers, but I managed to photograph a few:
Note David in the middle of the walkway. He is 6’1” tall, but is a midget compared to the towering trees:
This is the bamboo grove. Note the height of the people versus the trees:
This is a pretty sight:
The camera battery was dying and though I had a spare battery in my purse, I was reluctant to fiddle with it while standing in the garden. I intend to buy another camera to store in my purse so that I can just whip it out when the first camera dies. Of course, both cameras have to be small enough to fit in my purse. No problem with Canon PowerShot cameras.
