Repaving the road

After numerous delays, the city finally got around to repaving the road in front of our home:

First, they shaved the old asphalt off the road and then poured new asphalt on the other side of the street:

Note the depth of the new asphalt:

Then, they poured fresh asphalt on our side of the street:

This machine flattened the loose asphalt:

Then, a machine sprayed some kind of liquid:

And here’s the finished product:

    The paving of a road is an awesome business. A lot of precision equipment run by people who know what they are doing!

    Lot’s of that going on in our neighborhood lately. We got some new sidewalks up around the school.

    Your roads last longer. Ours freeze and settle, freeze and settle, and the governments go nuts with salt for the commuters…..consequence, pot holes galore!
