Photos: Day 1 in Straub Hospital

Just a few hours after surgery today, David was doing exceptionally well.

The physical therapist was there to assist him, as he walked up and down the corridor:

Back in bed, David ate vanilla ice cream after eating a pizza:

The nurse came in and asked him questions about his Advance Care Directive, which he had submitted to the admitting clerk in the morning. She also checked his blood pressure and oxygen level:

He enjoyed the free WiFi on his iPad:

He also enjoyed watching the NBA draft on TV, which also was free:

He said he really likes Straub because of the great food, excellent service, and his private room:

I will visit David again tomorrow. I was given a parking pass, which allows me to park in the structure for free, while he is still in the hospital.

So far, so good.

What a trooper! Knee surgery is daunting, to say the least. Glad to see he is receiving excellent care. Pizza and ice cream sound like wonderful recovery food 🙂

Glad all is going so well. i am amazed that he isn’t being sent to a place to stay for more therapy before going home. will the physical therapist come to your home?

After he is discharged from the hospital, he will come home to convalesce. He will see the physical therapist twice a week at a clinic. I will drive him to and from the clinic until he is off narcotic pain meds.
