Hawaii:  Photos of surfers by Ted Trimmer (2010).

Well, David and I have reached a compromise. I will pay for a Sony CD player ($49.99), and he will pay for a BalanceFrom bathroom scale ($19.99).  No shipping charge.  Delivery is expected on July 28.  Both items were purchased on Amazon.

He has agreed to listen to Mahler symphonies in his bedroom. The new CD player will be placed on his dresser, and he will lounge on his bed with the air conditioner cooling the room.

Remember that he has to pay for his knee surgery and his physical therapy, not to mention his medication. So, it is proper for me to pay for the CD player, and it is perfectly all right for him to listen to it in his room.

See? That’s why we have been married for 36 years, and we have not filed for divorce.

Compromise. That is the key to a long lasting marriage.

Like I mentioned in my last comment, compromise is the essence of a great marriage..If my hubs wants something he discusses it with me and I mull it over, we each have our own opinions..He likes different cd’s music and dvd’s etc. We are respectful and kind, why be stubborn about anything, as far as money is concerned we are not into one paying for this and or that, we don’t have much, each purchase is carefully thought out completely when it gets to be a certain number..Happy Summer Aloha & hoping and chanting your health is getting better and your hubs heals up quickly without anymore complications..adieu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wise old you. I though he was on Medicare.

He has Humana Medicare Advantage, which requires a co-payment for each service. For example, $270 per night in the hospital, and $25 per visit with the physical therapist.

David has a similar issue. Although on Medicare and carrying an insurance policy with United Healthcare, He is still paying for his hospital stay last fall. Once again, the insurance companies win.
