Quiet Thanksgiving at Ryan’s

Yesterday, David and I celebrated Thanksgiving by driving to Ryan’s Restaurant for a quiet meal (fried calamari, Caesar’s salad, turkey and all the trimmings, pumpkin pie, and crème brulee).

We had a lovely view of Ala Moana Park:

We don’t plan on shopping this week-end because of the daunting crowds.  We have informed our children that we don’t want to exchange gifts, and they understand perfectly.  Who needs things, anyway?  It’s the thought that counts.

I am so glad that I am married to David.  He is a wonderful companion, not to mention a terrific handyman.  He takes me to the symphony, the opera, and to restaurants, and also knows how to fix and assemble items in the house.  He is worth his weight in gold, believe me.

We had a quiet Thanksgiving, but I cooked for a change, and it was delicious, too. Plus we have tons of leftovers! 🙂

Happy Thanksgiving day one day late..we had a feast, my hubs got a big ham with all the trimmings and also turkey for him, he never eats ham! The ham is fully cooked and so yummy and spiral sliced, he also got 3 pies, mashed spuds, green beans, cauliflower casserole with lemon and orange in a sauce which was not sweet or bitter, rolls called Hawaiian kind..Plus Martinelli’s sparkling ciders to have for hydration..It was lovely just heat up what we wanted and nibble..We are off in a few minutes to the Washington coast for a visit with childhood friends and seafood from the sea, it has no wifi, no TV’s and no cell phones by my friend who prefers the human interaction, two are coming in a home on wheels that is like a real home placing it on the property and coming into the cabin to enjoy conversation, real seafood, a bonfire if it doesn’t continue to rain like the dikens, we are happy, healthy and it sounds as if your hubs David takes good care of you and loves you and spoils you like you spoil him..Our only child lives in NYC and she attended two dinners one with family my hubs side of the family and another a police fellow she dates, we send her gifts in November for her birthday and I got out a box of gifts for her Hanukkah and Christmas last week..We don’t exchange gifts just being together and loving each other is enough for us..Happy Holidays and Aloha in paradise to each of you…..XXXX()()()()XXXX()()()
