My 71st birthday

David and I celebrated my 71st birthday recently at Roy’s Waikiki:

We ordered the Tasting Menu, priced at $53 per person.

We started with edamame (soybeans):

This is the appetizer platter, consisting of shrimp, baby back rib, and chicken spring roll:

This is the main entrée, consisting of honey mustard short ribs, potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, and zucchini:

Dessert was a hot chocolate soufflé and vanilla ice cream on a nutty crust:

All in all, we had such a nice time at Roy’s Waikiki. I enjoyed feeling relaxed and happy with David, who is so compatible with me.  I tend to avoid people who make me tense and uptight.

Happy birthday! So nice, spending it out with your favorite person. Why the Waikiki Roy’s and not the one in Hawaii Kai?
