Our 37th wedding anniversary

David and I have been married for 37 years, and today, June 28, is our anniversary.  We plan to celebrate by having lunch at 100 Sails, an upscale restaurant next to the Ala Wai Boat Harbor.

I love David, because he is easy to live with.  Our marriage is based on friendship.  We can always count on each other for help.  I was there for him after his four surgeries (2 hands and 2 knees) and also there during his difficult career as an accountant and comptroller.  Any time he needs me, I will always be there to help him — mentally, physically, emotionally.

There is one thing you can say about us:  We are not cowards.  We don’t buckle in the face of adversity.  Who else has had a life like ours and survived?  Survival of the fittest.  The weak perish, the strong survive.

Our marriage is far from perfect.  But, somehow, my husband and I have made the best of it, and by golly, we have our family and house to be grateful for.

David and I were married in June 1980 in Waioli Chapel in Manoa, Hawaii.  Behind us are his father, his aunt Margaret, and his uncle Tom:

It’s been an interesting marriage so far.  There have been highs and lows, but now that we are both retired, we are on an even keel.

Happy anniversary, dear!

Happy Wedding Anniversary you both look and sound like you are still very much in love and kindness and helpfulness..You both have many things in common many marry without an idea of what the person is like whatsoever..Plus you live in the place where people live longest did you know that? It must be the ocean, the sunny and blue skies, paradise on earth and a sense of peace and calmness and the juju as I call it of the islands, family and love is more important there than in the usa mainland it truly is..Many more wedding anniversaries and keep smiling and enjoying your lives in paradise, aloha and may the great spirit keep you both in great health and peace

Congratulations and Happy Birthday to you and David. You definitely have much to be proud of and marriage is always a give and take, just as life can be. The problem is many couples do not realize that you must get through the bad as well as the great times. Apparently, you both know this…enjoy your celebration and dining out.
