Car accident

(Note:  Following up on my previous blog post, David fixed my desk top computer by replacing the battery unit, so I can blog normally now.)

On Friday, a huge 15,000 lb. box truck was trying to get into the right lane in front of the Navy Exchange, when the lug nuts on the truck’s front tire tore into the side of David’s car.  The doors were significantly damaged, but luckily they did not cave in or crumple.  No damage to the truck.

I took these photos of David’s car in our driveway:

The police were called to the scene and diligently made a report.  David contacted the truck driver’s insurance company, and their claims department will contact David on Monday.  We hope for a good outcome.  Thankfully, David survived the ordeal and did not have to go to the hospital.

Our family seems to be jinxed, because this year, both Maria’s van and Grant’s car were hit by other vehicles.  Grant’s car was totaled and had to be towed to a junk yard.  Maria’s van was struck by a driver, who fled.  Maria was so stunned that she failed to get that driver’s license plate number, and her own insurance company had to pay for the damage.

That makes three car accidents during the first seven months of this year.  Who’s next?  Me or Lisa?

Yikes, that is a terrible thing to happen while just driving down the street, doing what you’re supposed to be doing. One never knows what will happen when we go out on the road. I constantly pray while driving.

We have AAA insurance and any time anything happens to our car(s), I call them first. They handle everything so smoothly that I’m never bothered with any of the details. They even tell me the place to go to have the repairs made. AAA does all the phone calling, the paperwork, the haggling, and the paying. Hope David’s car repairs are handled as smoothly.

We hope not. David’s accident was about as bad as it gets before real disaster; now it’s done.

So glad everyone is ok, very unfortunate turn of events.

So sorry that this happened! Thank God that David is okay!
We were rear ended in May by an 18 year old coming home from soccer practice, he told us. My son said, “that guy was texting his girlfriend, I bet!”
A few years back, a car ran a red light and totaled Richard’s car as he was coming home from work, and the other driver was able to get away and he never could get his tag number. Please note, even if the other person stops, make sure to go around and get their tag number because if they see a chance, they will drive away!!

Once again, glad David is okay. Make one of your special meals and enjoy it in celebration of this.

All your commenters have said how glad they are that David is all right. Add me to that list. That’s a terrible thing to happen, but hopefully it will all be taken care of by their insurance.

I hate to see a title like that. I am glad David was not hurt. I have always heard that things happen in threes so I would consider that run of bad car luck over now!

They say that these things come in threes, so you now have no more mini disasters coming your way. Good that no one was hurt!

Oh my goodness! I’m so glad that David is ok!

If you follow the law of three then that should be it. Glad David is okay.

Glad David wasn’t hurt … that’s the important thing. Didn’t know Hawaii was such a dangerous place!
