A purse and a lunch

David and I are going to attend his 50th Roosevelt High School class reunion banquet on Saturday, and I wanted to replace my cross body bag with something more elegant.  Yesterday, we decided to shop at Macy’s in Pearlridge Shopping Center:

Macys-Monterey Bay Canners 004-A

I bought this black Calvin Klein purse, which was on sale (50% off).  It’s small, but big enough to hold my wallet, camera, and keys.  Isn’t it elegant and so much better than a cross body bag?  Perfect for a banquet:

After my purchase, we decided to walk across the parking lot and have lunch at Monterey Bay Canners:

This is the Sumida Watercress Farm outside the restaurant:

This is David, eating his sour dough roll:

We both ordered the Monterey Seafood Club Sandwich, consisting of crab, shrimp, bacon, lettuce, and tomato on toasted wheat bread.  It was delicious.  The French fries were nice and hot:

The lunch was discounted 15%, because David has a special card from Roosevelt High School that discounts meals at a number of restaurants in Hawaii.

Hence, we bought an elegant purse on sale and a wonderful lunch at a discount.  Way to go!

    It certainly looks good.
I have not found a bag I like in the last umpteen years. I have a small collection of useless bags that occasionally leave the closet.

A wonderful outing! The sandwich looks so good and the bag is lovely.

Looks like you had a great day Gigi, and a successful one. Your purse is very elegant, really lovely! Your photos of the restaurant bring back great memories. We went there on our last trip to Hawaii, and the time before that. At first I thought that was a rice field, but Gregg saw the sign for watercress. So interesting. When we were there, it was full of small egrets.

Wow that’s a lot of watercress. Had no idea that it was grown in Hawaii.

Glad you found what you wanted on your shopping trip. It’s maddening to go out for a specific item and not find it. Looks like you found the perfect bag.

The sandwich sure looks tasty! Have fun at the reunion.

There’s nothing worse than cold ‘hot chips’. I’ve been known to send them back as you don’t know how long they’ve been sitting there before coming out of the kitchen
And that looks like a very nice handbag. Yes different terminology for different parts of the world. We would put coins in a purse lol

A good buy and a discounted lunch so you really had quite a successful outing.
