The eyes and the flu

hanauma bay 018-A

This is my photo of Hanauma Bay, Hawaii.

***

I now have the flu with a temperature of 100.8 and wavering between hot and cold.  I am treating it with acetaminophen and bed rest.

As for David, he was complaining about blurry vision in his left eye.  He thought it might be an eyelash, but when he saw the eye doctor at Straub Medical Center, he was told he had a cataract.  He will undergo cataract surgery in October.  He was asked if he wanted the $4,000 deluxe surgery or the less expensive regular surgery.  He chose regular surgery.  I hope it solves his problem.

At my last eye exam, I was told my cataracts are so tiny that it is highly unlikely I’ll ever need surgery.  I consider that very good news.

A lovely photo of Hanauma Bay. So sorry about the flu. Feel better soon. Good to hear you probably won’t need surgery for your cataracts. I wish David the very best for his.

I opted for regular surgery, too. I’ve always worn glasses, I wouldn’t know what to do without them. Get better.

Flu at this time of the year is no fun. Well, it’s never any fun, but when it’s still so warm, having the flu is just that much more miserable. Good thing you have air conditioning.

As for cataract surgery, I thought Medicare paid for the operation?

feel better soon, sorry to hear. Good luck to David with the surgery, first I am hearing of a deluxe surgery option.

Prayers for yours and David’s better health.

Oh Gigi, I am so sorry to hear you are under the weather. Please take good care of yourself. Glad to hear that David’s vision will improve with the cataract surgery. We sometimes take our eyesight for granted, until we are at risk for a loss of vision.

What is the difference between regular cataract surgery and the deluxe version — never heard of being given choices like that?

Meant to add — wonderful memories of Hanauma Bay where I snorkeled for first time — walked out to Toilet Bowl where my nephew worried me when he jumped in there several, times with another young man we didn’t know who just happened to be there. Dangerous I think.
