A cold and the Super Bowl

Diwali, Ganges 009-A

This is David’s photo of me, wearing a mask because of the air pollution in Varanasi, India.  We were on our way to the Ganges River.  (2012)

I haven’t been feeling well.  Sore throat.  Fatigue.  My mother often told me to keep warm, because they don’t call a cold a cold for no reason.  My mother’s words of wisdom:  Stay warm when you have a cold.  Drink lots of liquids.  Rest.  Don’t take a bath.

Those words of wisdom make sense.  However, I plan to take a bath.  If I am going to die, then let me die clean.

Tomorrow is Super Bowl Sunday.  I predict that the New England Patriots will win.  Why?  Because QB Tom Brady is sure to come from behind and score the winning touchdown.  It happens all the time.  Or most of the time.

I probably won’t watch the Super Bowl.  I probably will be in my room, listening to classical music on my CD player.

Occasionally, I’ll shout:  “What’s the score now, David?”

That’s all I care about:  The score.

Not the game.  Not the commercials.

The score and nothing but the score.

Let the game begin!

Go, Pats, go!

For once we are in agreement. Go Pats! Patriots day is April 16. This is when the Boston marathon is run. This year we have an earlier Patriots day on February 4th when MVP Tom Brady and the Patriots win the Super Bowl!

I don’t care who wins, but I usually root for the underdog, which in this case is Philadelphia. Go Eagles! 🙂

  3. Christine Says:

I am like that with sports too. Hope you feel better soon, sorry to hear you are not feeling well.

  4. Olga Says:

I see people wearing those masks because of the flu being so bad tis year. I think I heard it was everywhere except Hawaii? Get well soon — warmth, rest and plenty of fluids!

Yes, take good care of yourself. I find a hot shower helps me breath better when I’m stuffed up.

Not watching the Superbowl. I hate football and always cheer for the clock.

SO funny – you will die clean.

Seems that we are both under the weather. This, too, shall pass. It makes me feel human when I am sick.

    Get well soon!
