Stock market and taxes

around the house 003-A

This is an old photo of my coffee table, taken in 2013.

I am glad I don’t have any money invested in the stock market.  I could not cope with steep losses.  Hence, I invest in CDs instead, which suits me just fine, since there is so little risk, if any.

David did our taxes recently.  We expect a small refund from the State, but owe nothing to and expect nothing from the Fed.  I am grateful that David is good with numbers and uses the TurboTax software without difficulty.  We have never been audited and owe no back taxes whatsoever.

We don’t travel anymore due to my colitis and finite amount of cash.  I don’t mind, because I am already a world traveler, having lived and worked in cities around the globe.  You can consider David a world traveler also, because he has accompanied me on some of my trips abroad.

Bottom line:  We are not bankrupt.

Glad to hear you are in such good financial condition. And you are so fortunate to have David! 🙂

Ours went down yesterday but is up again today. Swings and roundabouts – win some lose some. Really all one needs is enough to pay the bills….everything else is a blessing
Hope you’re feeling much better now.

And the bottom line is what counts! 🙂
My husband uses TurboTax. He likes it, too. Anything that makes it easier is a good thing. Right?

I agree with you. We pay our bills every month and always pay our credit cards in full. We are solvent and have a wonderful lifestyle!

If you have investment pensions, then the stock market does matter. We lost a lot in the 2008 crash but held tight with what we had and it’s come back up. Every little bit helps around here.

The stock market can get scary.

Being financially secure is a very good thing, Gigi, and knowing that you could do something if you wanted to is better. Sorry that your medical issues prohibit extended travel, but then your state is so beautiful as you have shown us.
