Surprised

I don’t do any volunteer work, because I don’t have the will to do so.  Just plain lazy and uncaring.  Besides, I am not good with people.  I tend to be abrupt and impatient.  I’m no politician trying to make everyone like me.  Bah, humbug.

Since I am not good with people, I am surprised that I am still married to David after 37 years.  He has never asked for a divorce or his freedom, even though I am not that easy to live with.

Further, I am surprised that my daughters are still speaking to me.  Not many mothers can say that about their children.  At least, my kids call or visit me now and then.  That’s nice of them.

I guess I am not going to move back to New York any time soon.  I’ll stay in Hawaii and make the best of it.  I have no choice, really, as I am too old to start my life all over again somewhere else.

I am 72, and ten years from now, at age 82, I probably will show signs of cognitive decline.  Then, at 92, I probably will die.  It’s hard to imagine that I will live to 100, though my mother died at 99 with dementia.

Anything’s possible.  Have a good life, folks.  Enjoy yourselves.

That is a cute picture of the kids and you two. I hope you will still be blogging in ten years so that we can continue to be virtual friends. 🙂

Lot of deep thinking going on there Gigi
It’s good to look ahead and predict but remember- never say never because – well you just never know what’s round the corner 😊

    Really cute picture!

Hopefully your 10 year predictions don’t come about and that you are well and vibrant throughout all those upcoming stages.

You are so funny sometimes! And I think David really has your number as indicated in his comment above. Lucky you to be content with your life and also nothing wrong with a little self-awareness!
