Goodbye to alcohol

There was a time when I used to drink alcohol, though very sparingly. Whenever David and I dined at a restaurant, we each ordered a glass of champagne as an aperitif. It put us in a good mood, ready for the appetizing meal to follow.

Then, in 2014, I drank my last drop. Drinking alcohol had unpleasant side effects, such as fuzzy thinking and the tendency to repeat myself during conversation. I don’t miss alcohol at all. I have no problem abstaining from it.

Here are some photos of me and David, toasting each other at various restaurants. This is how it was back then:

Moderate consumption of alcohol has a positive effect on the cardiovascular system. Excessive consumption can lead to health problems. Moderation is the key.

Those were the days! Nice photos.

From my experience, a lot of people give up alcohol as they get older b/c the aftereffects begin to outweigh the experience. I know I get a headache after drinking just one beer so I pretty much stick to Diet Coke . . . and now B wants me to give that up in favor of water. No fun!

I used to drink a glass of wine every night, but I only drink occasionally now, as I don’t enjoy wearing the calories! ๐Ÿ™‚

As you age, you need less calories. So, I use my calories on food! I drink wine but very rarely. When I say that at my physical, I love the look I get. “Yeah, right…You wino!” .

I am sober over 33 years. Me and alcohol got far too intense with each other. Alcohol won.

    Goodonya and David ๐Ÿ™‚
