Dining and chatting with David

David and I craved Chinese cuisine, so we bought take-out food from Mark’s Drive Inn, which is less than a mile from our home.

Here we are, raising our glass of chilled apple juice. “Cheers, my dear!”:

We started with Hot and sour soup, which consisted of tofu, pork, and veggies in broth:

This was followed by Noodles, beef, garlic chicken, and veggies:

And for dessert, we had Chantilly cake:

What did we talk about? As usual, current events, e.g., how the coronavirus will affect the new theatre, concert and opera season.

And, yes, we discussed politics. Our conversation was civil, though our blood was beginning to boil.

Pull up a chair and join us.

Damn you for reminding me of hot and sour soup. I want some and I want it now! Good that you bought some food out and you didn’t have to cook for one night at least.

That was another great meal with Gigi! Even though you did not cook, the food was amazing. Fine food with a fantastic wife is all you could hope for in these difficult times.

I might have to persuade The Golfer to nip out and pick up some Chinese take away over the weekend.
Good job we’re watching our weight at the moment- your servings look much larger than ours will be.

I love Chinese takeaway, doesn’t happen often enough. Right now tho I’d kill for an Indian curry. πŸ™‚

Good that both of you are enjoying a delicious meal together. Looks like you are observing social distancing at home too just like how the customers will be seated if they are to eat in the restaurant. The food and cake is making me hungry. Have a lovely weekend.
