Retail therapy

I have been feeling so depressed lately. My health is not the best, and there is not much to do around here. We could go to the beach, but for some reason, the thought of basking in the sun and swimming in the salty water just doesn’t turn me on.

But, retail therapy does. And what kind of retail therapy? Well, how about buying plants?

So we drove to Home Depot on Ala Kawa Street, and we were so glad we did. It was a visual feast, a riot of colors.

This is David with a cart load of annuals:

After paying for the goodies, we drove back home. I transferred our old Impatiens flowers to the area next to the fence. I cleaned the white bench and then placed the new annuals on top:

This is a close-up. Note the two-toned leaves, which contrast with the pink flowers:

There’s nothing like beautiful new plants to boost my morale!

It is nice to see, even from afar, as it is pretty colourless here

I love the leaves on those plants! So strange to see all this green, but you guys do live in paradise! Gigi I sure hope you’re doing a little better health-wise, and David too.

Very nice plants. I saw primroses and a couple other early spring flowers for sale outside my grocery store this week. We have made it almost through this awful winter.

Now that is enough to lift anyone’s spirits. Can’t wait till we can do the same here.

I hear you. A visit to a garden centre always lifts my morale too. I hope it continues to do so for you.

I long for the day when I can go to the nursery again. I think they’ll begin to open in March, even though too early for planting!

Plant shopping, or just visiting garden centers and nurseries, works for me too.
