Lately, there have been reports of violence against innocent people here in Hawaii.
Men with guns have invaded homes, tied up the residents, and stolen cash and jewelry.
Men also stop cars, force the occupants out with guns, and steal the cars.
Men knock down women and steal their handbags.
Oh, it is just awful! When I read about the crimes being perpetrated in Hawaii, it just makes me sick and so paranoid that something similar might happen to me and David.
However, I then think of the inherent goodness of most people.
For example, my older daughter, Maria, comes by with groceries from Costco twice a month. She also comes here to help us fix things around the house. What an angel!
The other day, my nephew, Charles, came by with a container of ginger sauce to add to our food as a condiment. For Christmas, he gave us a $50 gift certificate for food at an Italian restaurant nearby. What a thoughtful man he is!
Our neighbors give us fruits from their bounty, too.
And don’t forget the firemen, who helped me out of the tub when I slipped and fell in December.
Above all, I thank David for marrying me, adopting Maria, and fathering Lisa. He has helped me in so many wonderful ways.
Yes, you don’t have to look far to see good people in action.
I do believe that Good will always prevail over Evil. If not, the entire human race will perish.

You are so right. There will always be evil in this world. However there are so many wonderful people doing amazing things. Just today I saw a story about army veterans taking a truckload of essentials to Texas. Nobody asked them to do it, they just did it because they felt the need to help. They are so many good people throughout the world.

I never expected such crimes in Hawaii! I live in safe heaven according to that.
I also don´t understand why people in such wonderful places (Perth, for example) take drugs. Don´t people ever get enough?
But you are right, most people are good, mind- and helpful. Otherwise there would be no sense in living.

Better to stay positive and be grateful for the good in the world. We all need to add as much positive vibration to the world as we can.

This sure had a sad start… I had no idea such things were going on in Hawaii, but I suppose I’m not surprised given the year we just had. Very glad you can see the good too Gigi, and I liked that Texas story David shared. I think this is a good reminder we all have to be extra careful out there.

I had not heard of those storied from Hawaii. Terrible. There are so many stories of the good in people but they don’t make the front pages. Stay safe and cared for Gigi and David.

Yes, we all have a lot to be thankful for, and it’s good to appreciate all these things that make life worthwhile. Stay safe, Valerie

I hope that good does prevail, but sometimes I wonder.

The problem is that we hear about all these bad things going on instantaneously. I’m happy when we also hear about the good and kind-natured people, not only towards us but to others. I read about one couple in Texas who took in a young woman for five days – their Amazon delivery person’s truck slid off their driveway into a ditch and she couldn’t get a tow truck to the house as they were too busy with other accidents, also the roads were by that time impassible. They invited her in and when it became apparent she was stuck, they opened up their home to her where she stayed for several days. Insisted on it when she tried to leave as she would have put herself in jeopardy. A lot of good people out and a lot of good stories of others who show the same for others! Thank you for reminding us Gigi.

I too prefer to concentrate on the good in the world and not focus on the evil. Good post, Gigi, and I sure enjoyed all the comments! 🙂

It seems our local news is darker every day also. Lots of robberies and shootings in the towns…luckily we live in the boonies:). People need to be kind!

Let’s hope that good will always prevail
