Father’s Day 2021

It was nice of Maria and Rylan to come over to wish David a Happy Father’s Day. She gave him a nice card and a monetary gift. Very thoughtful of her.

Maria, David, and Rylan. They were dressed up, because they attended church service. Julia could not come to our home, because she had other plans:

The four of us sat in the living room and chatted about the kids’ report cards. Julia had all A’s throughout the year, so David and I gave her $20 as a reward. Too bad she wasn’t here so we could give it to her in person.

Lisa called David from Nevada, where she resides, to wish him a Happy Father’s Day, too. The temperature in Las Vegas was 111F on Saturday. Lisa planned to watch an ice hockey match on TV at her friend’s home. The Las Vegas team was competing in Montreal, Canada. Well, she rooted for the Las Vegas team, of course!

Last night, David and I had dinner at Michel’s at the Colony Surf in Waikiki. Photos to follow on Wednesday.

That was a very nice and pleasant Father’s Day. It was so nice to talk to my grandson and talk to my daughter about the grandkids development in school and life. The day was topped off by a fabulous dinner at a fine dining restaurant. One of the best father’s days ever.

Glad to hear David had a nice Father’s Day, and I always enjoy seeing the nice smiles on Maria & Rylan–I think this is the first time I’ve seen someone wearing a necktie in Hawaii! ;^)

Rylan seems to have shot up in height….won’t be long before he’s as tall as his grandpa.
Love the askew tie – just the right look for a young lad…..pulled to one side because…….”I’ve got to wear it but I don’t really want to wear it”

    Sounds like a good day.

It will be great for Rylan to know about neckties when he grows up. I know personally of a college grad, brought up in Hawaii, who was caught short for his first job interview because he didn’t know how to tie a tie. A college grad! It was an unintended consequence of being brought up in Hawaii with our relaxed shorts, slippers and t-shirts culture!
