Calm, relaxed, and mellow

I try not to write about my troubles on my blog. I prefer to keep it positive and upbeat, even uplifting when possible. This has led to my own happiness and success. I enjoy writing my stuff, such as it is.

The other day, I went to Straub Medical Center on King Street to have my ear wax removed. First, the medical assistant dropped hydrogen peroxide into my left ear to soften the wax for five minutes. Then, she irrigated the canal, but nothing floated out. So, she used a tool to dig out the culprit. UGH. The wax was huge and disgusting. Then, she got a tiny bit of wax from the right ear. So, now I can hear fine. Nothing muffled, everything is crystal clear. I can hear a pin drop. Yes, literally. A pin drop.

Basically, my life is a quiet one. I cook, I clean, and I write my blog. I also host a party from time to time. That is basically it.

I don’t travel anymore, because it is expensive and my arthritis prevents me from walking easily. I rarely play my violin, because it isn’t important to do so. I don’t attend the symphony, the opera, or plays anymore because of the risk of catching the virus.

So, as I said, all I do is cook, clean, blog, and host a party.

Is that boring to you?

Maybe so.

But, it isn’t stressful living like this.

It is just calm, relaxed, and mellow.

Always enjoy seeing your lovely dining room, and your life doesn’t sound boring at all Gigi. You always have great family photos or food photos to share too. :^)

If you are happy with your life, which you seem to be, then it’s fine. I don’t need permanent excitement, either! Valerie

  6. DJan Says:

I have had to see the doctor for ear wax removal, too. Now I can do it myself if I keep using the drops regularly. Glad you can hear again!

I also have a good life but it needs to be more calm, relaxed, and mellow. One of these days…

Did you ever read the book Corelli’s Mandolin? In the beginning, an old man goes to the doctor who discovers a pea stuck in his ear. The old man has been deaf in that ear since he was a little boy, not anymore! Halfway through the book, the old man goes back to see if the pea can be replaced.
    Good read.
I try not to while on my blog either, but leave little clues so when I come back and read it later, I know what was going on. But I do end up whining sometimes.

Mellow is good, whatever makes you happy. As we age, finding contentment is important.

I always like your table settings, and this one is also very pretty. Your artwork and pretty flowers sets it off beautifully. You are basically describing my life and I am totally fine with it. Glad you got your ears taken care of. That will be in my near future, also a trip to the dentist and the hairdresser. My hair is so long now I am going to donate towards making a wig for a cancer patient. I did this once before but this is the longest it has ever been. Gregg will be calling me Rapunzel soon 😉

This pandemic has caused us to slow down. I used to be busy being here and there but now its staying home most of the time except to go out for essentials. I also cook, clean, blog, reading and catching up with friends and news on the hand phone.

Dear Gigi and Friends, my life would probably be considered boring too. Oh well… 😉 Anyway, as time goes by, the less interest i have for vanity fair (no wonder the planet’s a mess). So far, the Lord has blessed me with good health – and i sure don’t want to squander His good gift by chasing after stuff that doesn’t last.

Your life is not more boring than mine, but better that than the stress my Hubby has at work. They even called him in his holiday cause they´re too dumb to do his job 😦
Love how you always do your table, so pretty!!

You can find good in many things, Gigi. Lack of stress is good. I could relate to your ear story. For months, I was getting ear-igation treatments to loosen up impacted wax. When it finally came out it was the size of my little fingernail and I could hear again. What a gift our hearing is. I’m so glad they were able to remove yours and not have to go six months for it!

  21. Kay G. Says:

You set a really pretty table.
I also have that problem with ear wax. Gee whiz, it is amazing how it can interfere with your hearing!

  22. Muhammad Nawaz Says:

How can help me because I’m so pour Man tell me

  23. Far Side Says:

Our lives are quiet also…but I whine on my blog!
