Dining in our patio

It was a beautiful and balmy evening in August, so we decided to have a wonderful steak dinner in our patio.

We love our neighbor’s trees overhanging our fence:

The sky is our canopy. Note the half-moon up there:

David is the perfect Grill Meister. First, he preheats the gas grill with the lid closed for 5 minutes on high. Then, he slaps the New York steaks above the burners. The grill is uncovered during cooking. These steaks are bone-in and sprinkled with salt and pepper. We like our steaks pink in the middle, so it’s 6 minutes on one side and 6 minutes on the other. Perfect steaks every time!

Steaks, microwaved potatoes (with butter and sour cream), and salad (lettuce, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, Italian dressing). Chilled water. Next time, I’ll add bacon bits to the potatoes for extra flavor:

Dessert was orange sherbet ice cream:

It was lovely. We had a wonderful dinner!

The patio is also a nice spot to sip my cold brew coffee and read the newspaper. Natural light is far better than artificial light for reading. The birds play in the trees and cheer me up with their birdsong.

It’s Paradise, and I just love it!

I couldn’t agree with you more. HAWAII is the perfect place for dining outdoors. The weather is clear and there is usually a nice breeze blowing. The outdoors Is also quiet as our neighbors are not noisy. Perfect meal in the best place to live on this planet!

We grilled chicken for family dinner last night along with corn on the cob and potato salad. It combined well for us. Unlike David, I don’t have grilling times down pat.

This is a wonderful place to dine and sip a coffee and read too. David did a great job on the steaks and the accompaniments are perfect additions.

You say Meister? Astonishing still, where I find words of German origin.
    Hm. Dunno. I prefer coal.
But, ohhh, it looks so yummy!
Potatoe in the microwave? How? Ours is from 1987 and has no grill-function, reckon no luck with that?
