A joyous holiday season

I have decided to take a break from writing restaurant reviews every week and will just write a review once a month. Good enough.

There is the garden in my patio that beckons. I need to buy a large number of potted plants from Home Depot. They will look gorgeous in the patio — just in time for my Christmas party.

Yes, I am hosting Christmas this year, as I did last year and other years before that. Unfortunately, there will be only 12 of us, because so many people in our family have either died or moved to the mainland. So sad and heartbreaking.

But, we’ll have a good time, nevertheless.

I don’t have a Christmas tree due to complete lack of interest. I just don’t want a tree. Nope.

However, there will be Christmas music and lots of delicious food to eat. And we’ll exchange presents, too.

Christmas is all about family, and I love my family.

I am so looking forward to a joyous holiday season.

P.S. I watched the Netflix docuseries, “Harry and Meghan,” yesterday and was absolutely blown away. Wow! The history of the monarchy and commonwealth, their love story, and the paparazzi not to mention their cross cultural differences and their different personal upbringing — it was all so riveting and so fascinating for me, a woman living in Hawaii. These are real human beings speaking, not a fictionalized drama like “The Crown.” I much prefer to watch a documentary like this. I can’t wait to see the final installment next Thursday.

I too am looking forward to our annual Christmas party. Some of our relatives I only see at the family gathering. It is always memorable.

Your party will surely be great, enjoy being with your family. I will be celebrating with a friend. Have a great weekend, Valerie

Beautiful Christmas flowers and wonderful plans, too!

It seems that you are all set.

I will try to remember that program, but I do like The Crown. Even though it is factionalized, I do learn things.

Gathering together with family is the best gift of the holiday. We will be going the same in RI and CT. Like yourself, we have family members who are no longer with us, but they remain in our memories of Christmases past. We wish you and David a happy holiday.

Looking forward to seeing your party pics with family & food, Gigi. (12 is still plenty of people!) As for Harry & Meghan, I don’t know enough to comment but they certainly don’t sound like they want left alone. They shouldn’t have left the Royal Family, period.

I find both the Crown and Harry and Meghan fascinating. So far, no bombshells, just a lot of love. Meanwhile, as AC said, you learn some things from the Crown, even though they take liberties with certain info — it sends you on to research and is so darned well acted, that alone is worth it. I’m thrilled you are openingyour home to a Christmas party after several years without. I’ve thought of the same if I can get my act togther and you are inspiring me to!

Twelve sounds like a good group to me. Lots of laughs, fun conversations and great food. Have a wonderful gathering.
Don’t have Netflix so for now H and M are not available to me. Will have to be content with the clips.

Enjoy your time with your family – as I am sure you will.
I have reservations about Harry and Meghan’s story. Their side of the story is the only one on display.

  11. DJan Says:

I haven’t watched H&M and probably won’t, but I’ve heard both negative and positive reviews. I think 12 is quite a good number to host. It should be wonderful; you are a very good host.

  12. Christine Says:

The documentary sounds interesting. Good for you hosting Xmas dinner

  13. Nancy Chan Says:

Beautiful Christmas plants for your patio. Ours will be a peaceful Christmas.

  14. Olga Says:

You are a host with the most so I am sure the holidays will be a smashing success!

  15. Fools Rush In Says:

I have not watched MEGAN AND HARRY yet but you have inspired me. I will watch it now.

  16. Tom from Sightnigs Says:

As for Megan and Harry, I had enough of the royal family a long time ago. As for your Christmas … it sounds just perfect!

  17. DeniseinVA Says:

How wonderful that you will all be getting together for your Christmas party. Several will be missed I know but what a blessing to be with your family. I haven’t watched Harry and Meghan yet. It sounds very enlightening.
