Well, 17 people showed up. I ended up telling Da Punchbowl Kid to Google gigi-hawaii, because he asked me if I was the author of a book I didn’t write. Kid, if you are reading this, welcome!
It was too bad I was seated at the end of a long table and couldn’t mingle. But the conversation was fun and informative, to say the least. I heard the latest gossip about the head football coach, the athletic director, and a former football star. I won’t repeat it here, because I don’t want to embarrass anybody. But it was shocking.
Now that the University of Hawaii football season is over, will the Warrior Beat blog continue? I hope so. I made a lot of new friends, and it will be sad to say “so long.” When I returned from the party and logged onto the Honolulu Advertiser web site, I noticed Stephen Tsai had posted a new entry in the blog. It will end but apparently, not tonight! Hurrah! — gigi
