David and his lawn mower

The lazy days of summer are over. Here is David, mowing the backyard last Monday. Click on the photos to enlarge them, if you wish:

He takes a break by sitting in our patio, sipping from a water bottle:

As you can see, the trees in Hawaii don’t turn color during autumn. But, they do shed leaves, which have to be swept up daily.

After a few hours outdoors, he treasures our air conditioned home when he comes in. It’s 88F outside, but 75F inside:

Yardmen in Hawaii charge $120 to do what David does. So, by doing it himself, David saves $120.

I couldn’t agree with you more. We exist on a small fixed income. The money I save can be used for meals out, and musicals at the Blaisdell. We do what we have to do to survive in these difficult times.

I learned that Hawaii has been unusually hot for quite awhile now. I’m hoping that the change in seasons will bring things back to normal for you. 🙂

Good that you’re still able to do it David, it’s a large lawn and lots of work.

I like that philosophy of saving on what you can do yourself in order to do the things you love.

It is a very, very long time since our lawns were that green. Mostly when himself mows the lawn he is followed by a cloud of dust. (we are on water restrictions so the lawn is v low on the watering list)

    Good for David!

David, you can come to Georgia and cut our grass anytime! We would take you and Gigi both out for Georgia BBQ, you would love it! Think I might have to go for some Brunswick stew just thinking about it! Can you tell I am trying to lose weight!😊
