The holidays are upon us

The holidays are upon us. Thanksgiving is over, and Christmas is coming up.

I bought a poinsettia plant to start things off:

My Vietnamese neighbor gave us longans from his tree. They are sweet and juicy. Peel the skin off and eat the fruit:

My nephew, Travis, gave me my first Christmas gift of the season:

Life is good.

I couldn’t agree with you more. We are having a wonderful life in the best state. We have great weather with temperatures in the 80s. The mainland is freezing with lots of snow. LUCKY WE LIVE IN HAWAII!

It seems to have started early this year.

Hi, Gigi. Yes, I’m still around and I check in now and then. I like your positive post. Life is good here in Seattle too, just colder, but not stormy like much of the country. We are swinging into Christmas preparation mode here too, with the lights up on the house and the Santa collection on the shelves. Much more to do.
Keep on enjoying that good life. It is precious.

It is indeed coming, but you are well ahead of me in your preparations.
Enjoy the season – to the max.

Getting into the mood there, Gigi, good for you. We celebrate Solstice which is the coming of the light. And keep gift exchange to a minimum.

I too have received one present, from my daughter. Don’t open until Christmas!

    You are all ready!

Our neighbor generously gives a potted poinsettia every year to all the nearby neighbors. How wonderful to have those longans. They are delicious!
