Thanksgiving 2021

Maria and her family joined us for a pleasant Thanksgiving lunch in our home. I had fun decorating the table with a white tablecloth, green napkins, and a bouquet of fresh flowers.

We ordered a half-turkey and sides from Zippy’s on Nimitz Highway. The package included a roasted half-turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry relish, gravy, and rolls. I heated some of that in the oven and microwave. I added a Caesar’s salad and a fruit salad to the meal. Maria brought a custard pie for dessert.

The food was delicious! And the company was wonderful!

It was so nice to spend quality time with our family. Unfortunately, our younger daughter, Lisa, could not join us. She lives in Nevada and found it unfeasible to be with us this year. We missed Lisa.

It looks wonderful – and I love the way that the bouquet of flowers on the table was echoed by the art on the walls.

How lovely! Happy Thanksgiving to you, too! We’ll be celebrating with our Thanksgiving Dinner today. We have traditionally had our big dinner on Black Friday so more of our friends and family are able to attend. And, it gives us one more day to prepare. I made the cranberry sauce and liver pate (yes, most of our family loves it!) yesterday. I got up early this morning and made the bread. The green beans will happen this afternoon. Catherine will make everything else for the feast. This is such fun!

Thanksgiving Day is something like our Chinese New Year Eve Reunion where family members come together for a reunion dinner. Very nice table arrangement. I miss eating roast turkey. Hope to have for Christmas.
