Today, I thought I’d post recent photos of plants I dearly love. They all were purchased from Home Depot.
I water the pink Impatiens on my patio table every morning. David waters those three potted palms in the background every other day:
I water the anthurium on my coffee table twice a week. The plant seems to flourish indoors, but I don’t know where I’ll put it when it grows too big for the coffee table. Planting it outside would kill it, since it requires indirect light in the shade. On the floor is my beautiful hand woven silk rug from Kashmir, India:
Life is great, isn’t it? If you don’t agree, don’t bother to explain why. Simply dig a hole and bury those miserable thoughts. Focus on what you are going to do today and tomorrow.
I no longer think in terms of being happy or being unhappy. Instead, I think of how grateful I am for what I already have. Gratitude leads to a buoyant spirit.
Today is Super Bowl Sunday. David is rooting for the Denver Broncos. As for me, I like both Pete Carroll (coach of the Seattle Seahawks) and Peyton Manning (quarterback of the Denver Broncos), so it doesn’t matter to me which team wins.
Good luck to both teams! And good luck to all of you!

Love your couch. Do you have three couches or one couch, one loveseat and one chair all matching? Are they fabric or leather? Oh I would give anything to have a set like that. Right now I am desperately searching for new living room furniture. Is the little doily under the plant an heirloom? It looks like the ones my grandmother used to make.

This matching set consists of a sofa, a love seat, and a chair. All leather, which is very easy to clean with a duster or spot clean with a liquid cleanser and paper towel. I bought this in 2005 and have never conditioned it. The leather is still soft and plush. Price for all three was only $1,995.
The doily was given to me by David’s mother.

The crocheted doily under the anthurium. caught my eye, too. It’s quite nice to see old and new mixed casually together.

Those impatiens really benefit from the water. Husband M is going to a superbowl party tonight, enjoy everybody!

I like your attitude of being grateful for what you have. Thinking of what we are grateful for is a great way to boost our spirit.

I think you have a green thumb. Have you thought about making the anthurium a floor plant?

The trick is finding the perfect spot on the floor for the plant to thrive. It needs the right amount of light – not too much and not too little.

And I am grateful that you have shared this bit of beauty with us today.

Lovely flowers, Gigi, and a very good attitude to go along with the beauty! Thank you for the condolences, too.

I’ve had some good luck and some bad luck with Home Depot plants … somehow I think it has more to do with me than HD. Your gratitude attitude reminds me of the line from the catchy “Life Is a Song” by Patrick Park: “I always forget how strange it is, just to be alive at all.”

Haha. I have never heard that song. What wonderful lyrics!

Your attitude of gratitude is encouraging. And those beautiful plants you care for must surely nurture your spirit.

I agree. I have been writing down what I am grateful every morning for the past month. It lifts my spirit every time.

It does look as though you ave green fingers where those two plants are concerned. I have no luck at all with Impatiens (Busy Lizzie) whether they are the indoor variety or the outdoor perennial one they still tunr up their toes and die on me 😦
Take care

Your plants look lovely and that is great advice. Looking at those beautiful flowers makes me happy. I do love flowers and have had a wonderful time visiting several botanical gardens in Florida.
