Trip to Lowe’s with Maria

On Monday, we asked our daughter, Maria, if she could help us at Lowe’s in Waikele. We wanted to buy some patio chairs and plants, and we needed her van to transport these things to our home.  Like the good natured kid she has always been, she said, “Yes, I’ll meet you there.”

We decided to return these three areca palm trees to the store, because they would topple in the wind:

David and Maria took the old, broken patio table and chairs to the curb for bulk pick up by the City.  However, within four hours, a private citizen took all of the furniture:

And these are the two resin chairs that we purchased. We like them, because they are sturdy enough to hold up to 350 lbs and they will not rust or rot.  Note the cup holders jutting from the arm rests:

Over the next few days, we’ll paint the patio floor grey and buy more hanging plants and small shrubs to decorate the patio.
